Ilya Efimovich Repin (1844-1930) - an outstanding painter, teacher, a full member of the Imperial Academy of Arts, a master of portrait, historical and domestic canvases. As the teacher raised a galaxy of famous artists: B. M. Kustodiev, I. E. Grabar, V. A. Serov and others. He also possessed an outstanding literary gift. The autobiographical book "Far Close" contains the artist’s memoirs about the vivid impressions of childhood, about the years of study at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, about acquaintance and partnership with the teacher I. N. Kramskoy, about working on the famous picture "Burlaki on the Volga". Before writing a particular story, Repin told her guests several times to make sure that history really causes interest.
