A collection of heartbreaking teachings and reverent thoughts from ancient ascetic works composed of their leadership.
In the old days in Russia in pious Old Russian families, quite favorite reading were collections of ascetic teachings, mainly compiled under the leadership of holly-based creations, known under the name: Dioptera, or the mirror of contempt by the worldly pushes.
The proposed publication is a difficult work: processing and addition of the compositions of the Athos ascetic of Philip the Diopter, known in the Middle Ages. Quotes from the Holy Scriptures are verified and in places given (mainly from the New Testament) in a synodal translation. The book is designed for the widest reader.
