In the book of the Monk Joseph of Optinsky "Different weaknesses and boredom - laziness and negligence, grandchildren" includes his edifying words, the bulk of which is addressed to the inhabitants of female monastery.
The proposed edition was prepared on the basis of "Assembly of letters of the Optina elder Joseph, which was issued in 2005. All letters included in the book were written in the period from 1896 to 1911.
Rev. Joseph (Litovkin), along with the elder Anatoly (Mirtsalov), was the closest student and successor to the great Optina old man Ambrose (Grenkov) His inner life was known only to God and the Monk Ambrose, but, according to the life teacher, “the internal virtues of this pure soul could not but be found. The great humility and fertile light of inner prayer illuminated and attracted the hearts of people to it. ”
