The name "Theobrasser" says that the proposed collection contains extra-service spiritual chants. It included: Old Russian spiritual poems, kant, psalms, songs in Slavic, Russian and Ukrainian, as well as spiritual poetry. In total, the collection includes 425 musical examples and about two hundred poetic texts that are not laid on the melody.
The collection has 23 departments in which chants and poems are grouped by topics. Most often, the material is located in order from more ancient melodies and texts to later samples. But in some cases, this order is changed when it is required in the course of the content of the book. The section "saints" is compiled in the order of the historical sequence of the lives of the saints, therefore, the direction from the more ancients to the latest tunes in this section is not observed.
Thus, the chants and poems created at different times, located in various combinations among themselves, create some "consonance of times", which also the name of the collection is indicated.
In its aggregate, all the material collected in the book is a song of the cathedral soul of Orthodox Russia over the past three centuries, there are more ancient texts.
