Rev. Ambrose Optinsky (1812-1891) was and remains one of the most revered Russian elders. His living word, advice and instructions are contained in numerous letters to the laity and monks. For the first time published before the revolution, in our time they were printed selectively and in reprint reproduction. In this publication, the letters of the elder Ambrose are collected in one volume and published in modern spelling.
