Collections of the series "Tradition, Culture, Creativity" are devoted to modern Russian church creativity, which, according to the author-compiler, should be based on Old Russian culture.
In liturgical singing, as in other types of church art - icon painting and temple architecture, it is important, on the one hand, to remain within the framework of church tradition, church canons, and on the other hand, to use artistic means that understand the modern world if possible. . One -column or polyphony? - a long -standing dispute about the admissibility in church singing of such a means of musical expressiveness as harmony. The author offers an original solution to this issue, finding an answer in church chants of the XVII century.
The collection is addressed, first of all, to the clerks, as well as to all those who are interested in the history of ancient Russian singing culture. In this series, it is also planned to publish chants of services: Easter, wedding, Great Lent and others.
