Church, society and culture in late antiquity

The textbook includes a concise presentation of the content of the collective special course of the department of universal history “Church, society and culture in late antiquity and the Middle Ages”, as well as a special course in the Russian Department of History “Slavic Epigraphics”. The materials of the manual are designed to introduce students to the urgent problem of the history of early Christianity and mediavic research. Particular attention was paid to the problems of the development of the hierarchical system of the ancient Church, the theological polemic (Christological disputes and the Greek-Latin church relations), the history of education (both in the Latin West, and in Byzantium), the daily life of the medieval city and the village, and epigraphic sources on the history of medieval Rus" .
