The author of the book is the Archbishop of Tver and Kashinsky Savva (Tikhomirov, 1819-1896), a well-known church archaeologist, doctor of church history, writer. His scientific works, which brought the great benefits of the Church and the Fatherland, were distinguished by the thoroughness of the study, the abundance of historical information, the firmness of thought and beliefs. In his book “Chronicle of my life”, Archbishop of Savva reflected the history of the largest half of the 19th century, the time of great reforms and transformations in all areas of the state, and to a large extent in the church life of Russia.
The publication is dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the blessed death of Archbishop Savva, an outstanding hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.
