The book tells about one of the unique monuments of St. Petersburg architecture-the Buddhist church, built at the beginning of the 20th century on the initiative of the Messenger of the XIII Dalai Lama in Russia, the Buryat Lama Agnian Dorzhiev. The book tells in detail about all stages of the construction of the temple, its relics and a difficult fate during the years of Soviet power. The temple, closed in 1938, was returned to the believers only at the end of the Gorbachev perestroika - in 1990.
