In 1970, I and friends with whom I studied on the same course at the Moscow Architectural Institute, visited the expedition from the Ministry of Culture in the Kostroma region, in the Galich district, where we compiled descriptions and made the measurements of the still preserved churches. Despite the fact that church buildings were everywhere destroyed, then there are still many churches left then, mainly, of course, in a deplorable state. Many of them were in completely deserted places, in abandoned cemeteries and even in the forest.
