In the book “Birds, Art, Life: Year of observation”, Kio Maclirus goes on an ornithological journey through a large city and reflects on the nature of creativity and the search for a meaningful life in his path.
Once in a difficult life situation, the storyteller reveals for herself the world of Burding, observations of birds. On the one hand, an essay studying our relationship with the surrounding nature, on the other hand, is an outright experience of auto -players, an exercise in the art of impuritability and a diary of observing itself. Birds for Maclirus become the same as the mushrooms for John Cage, butterflies for Vladimir Nabokov or a bee for Sylvia Plates - an external impetus for the internal journey.
At a more deep level, Maclirus raises questions about how our parallel hobbies form and educate us, and how we can come to care not only for virgin natural places in the world, but also to spotted urban spaces, in which we live
