About the artist
Igor Oleinikov was born in 1953 in a small town near Moscow.
Since childhood, he was passionate about drawing his mother-artist. He worked at the Soyuzmultfilm film studio as an assistant to the artist-winner, participated in the creation of all his favorite cartoons “The Secret of the Third Planet”, “Once upon a time”, “Caliph Aist”, “The Journey of the Ant”, “Martynko” and others. At the BBC The Christmas Films studio, he worked as an artist in the projects “Bible in animation”, “Opera in animation”, fairy tales of the peoples of the world, world literary classics.
Now it only works as a book illustrator.
In 2018, Igor Oleinikov was awarded the title of best illustrator of children"s books in the world, he was awarded the gold medal of Andersen. This is the most prestigious international award in the field of children"s literature, it is often called the Malaya Nobel Prize.
Igor Oleinikov illustrated about 100 books, in particular, the books were published in Nicaea: “Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen, “Christmas song in prose” Charles Dickens, “Ovil and Donkey with a nursery” of Jules Supervel, a collection of military prose “This is us, Lord!”, “Magic tree” by Andrei Usachev, as well as calendars and posters
