In one volume, the monumental work on the biblical history of the Old and New Testament of the outstanding Russian bibleist, professor of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy Alexander Pavlovich Lopukhin. In his book, which had withstood 20 reprints until 1917, he collected and analyzed all the biblical-chronological, archaeological, historical and ethnographic material available by the end of the 19th century. Their work A.P. Lopukhin intended for the widest circle of people, since, in his opinion, “a biblical story can become an inexhaustible source of moral and higher historical education for any more or less capable of a person’s serious mental life.”
