The translation of the Bible into Russian was launched by the Russian Biblical Society according to the highest command of the sovereign Emperor Alexander I in 1816, renewed by the highest coat of the sovereign of Emperor Alexander II in 1858, was completed and published with the blessing of the Holy Synod in 1876 This edition provides the text of the synodal translation of 1876, re -distinguished with the Jewish text of the Old Testament and the Greek text of the New Testament.
