The training manual is intended for icon painters and restorers. It consisions in consistently all features of the image of the figure and faces on the icon. The iconographic pattern is an independent graphic language developed by the Orthodox Church for many centuries for the image of the Lord Jesus Christ, Angels and Saints, as well as the plots of gospel and biblical history. The attention of students is sent to the features of the icon painting pattern, distinguishing the language of icon paintings from academic drawing, learning which is included in the standard of artistic training.
Like any manual in drawing and painting, it requires the living participation of the teacher and independent work of students on the development of the skills of the icon painting pattern.
