The Talmud is a set of legal and moral and ethical provisions of Judaism, covering Mishna-the basis of the Jewish oral tradition and hemaru-discussions that were conducted by law teachers of the land of Israel and Babylonia for five centuries, and which is the main source of the oral tori. The Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmudes differ, the Babylonian Talmud has great authority and is the main subject of the traditional Jewish training system. In the present volume, the eighth of the multi-volume publication, the original text and the Russian translation of the second and third chapters of the Tau-Mesia treatise were included. The publication is based on the principle of publicly available, it is designed to help the reader independently get acquainted with the full text of the Talmud in Russian. The translation is accompanied by brief comments based on the comments of the largest medieval scientist-player Rushi. In the future, it is planned to publish the transfer of all Talmud treatises.
The main theme of the treatise of Bava-Mesia, which is represented by six volumes in our publication, are laws related to the clarification of the status of disputed property. In the second volume of six, a translation of the second and third chapters of the treatise is given. In the second chapter, various situations are understood related to the implementation of the commandment of the return of finds. Among other things, the following ram is given: “A special stone of applications stood in Jerusalem. Everyone who lost anything went to this stone. And everyone who found someone else"s loss went there. The first announced the find, the second called the signs of the lost thing and took it. The subject of the third chapter is responsibility in storing someone else"s property. The law provides for four status of watchmen, each of whom is endowed with its own share of responsibility: a free watchman, paid watchman, tenant and the one who asked someone else"s thing for free use for the established time period. Most of the situations considered by the Talmud in these chapters are quite relevant for our time
