Athos is a holy monastery, the destiny of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the place of the ascetic life of the monks - "living dead, earthly angels and heavenly people, the angelic life of imitators, warriors of the King of Heaven" (the legend of the wanderings and travel in Russia, Moldova, Turkey and the Holy Land of the monkey Parthenia. Part 4. M., 1855) From ancient times, Orthodox Christians strove for Athos to learn prayer, life with God and God. As Heroschimona Sergius wrote in the Svyatogorets’s letters to his friends about the Holy Mount Athos ":" If people knew if they had experienced the warmth of our feelings at least once, the fire of that sweet love for God, in which the hearts of the Athos are melted and, like how Gold in the crucible, cleansed of all worldly ... fuss, they would, of course, exclaim with David: "What are in heaven and what is the sunrot from God on the earth? God! You are the god of my heart, you are my part, God, forever! " In this book, we have the opportunity to learn from the Athos"s ascetics themselves how to spend life pious. The saints of the inhabitants, the Monk and the saints, whose names are listed in Athos Pateric, from the time of the formation of Athos as a center of Orthodox monasticism, from the era of Isihasm - the activities of St. Nikifor Senninnik, St. Gregory Sinaita, St. Gregory Palamas - and to the bottom, left us a huge spiritual heritage - evidence of enduring glory and continuous intercession of the Athos saints for the human race.
