Saint Feolipt Philadelphia (1250 - c. 1326) - one of the most striking personalities in the history of patristic theology and Byzantine church writing. It can be considered the first representative of the Late -in -Russian Hesychasm and the teacher of St. Gregory Palamas. Unfortunately, until recently, the creation of this outstanding ascetic and spiritual writer were almost unknown. Only one of them, in an incomplete and incorrect form, was published in Greek "kindness", and then entered the Church Slavonic and Russian kindness". Only at the very end of the 20th century, a large number of works of the Philadelphia saint were discovered, which were published independently by two scientists: Canadian R. Sinkevich and Greek I.K. Grigoropulu. Since 2000, professor A.I. Sidorov began work on a commented translation of these works, in which the priest Alexander Przhegorlinsky took a feasible part. Separate translations of the saint"s creations were published in various periodicals ("Alpha and Omega", "Sretensky Collection", etc) Then it was decided to collect the corps of ascetic creations and letters of St. Feolipt and publish them with a separate book, providing it with an introductory article and an application
