This book continues the series of New Testament studies of Metropolitan Hilarion and recreates the biography of the pigeon apostle Peter on the basis of evidence of him in the Gospels, the acts of the apostles, his own epistles and epistles of the Apostle Paul, as well as in other ancient sources. Turning to both patristic interpretations and modern scientific theories, the author tells about the life of the most famous of the students of the Savior, tracing his path from calling to the apostolic service to the martyrdom. Particular attention is paid to difficult issues: is Peter the cornerstone on which Christ built the Church? Was there really a conflict between Peter and Paul? Is the second message of Peter truly? Was Peter the first bishop of Rome? Combining scientific thoroughness with the simplicity and accessibility of the presentation, the author leads the reader to understand these and many other issues related to the biography of the Great Apostle
