The evening service, performed on the eve of Sundays and large holidays, is called all -nights. The all -nights consists of three parts: Vespers, Utryn and the first hour. At the all -nights more than in the liturgy, the spirit of the holiday is felt, because most prayers are dedicated to him. While a civil day begins after midnight, the church begins the day before, from the evening. In the custom, to start a new day in the evening, a biblical tradition affects which the creation of the world began in the evening: “And there was an evening, and there was a morning: one day” (Genesis 1: 5)
