Akathist (Greek. Non -family [singing]) - a form of church poetry, Christian laudatory church chant. Filled by all those present. The sample for all the akathists was the oldest of them - the akathist of the Blessed Virgin Mary, written at the beginning of the 7th century in memory of the repeatedly - deliverance of Constantinople from the enemies of the protection of the Mother of God.
In our book, the akathists are collected by the miraculous icons of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Orthodox saint who have a special grace to help people in various everyday circumstances.
