The image of “helping by childbirth”, accidentally discovered in Russia in 1993, is now stored in the Serpukhov Cathedral of St. Nicholas Cathedral. Every Saturday, an akathist is read in front of the icon revered by the miraculous, specially written by Archpriest Vladimir Andreev.
According to the iconographic characteristics, the image of the Virgin goes back to the type of immaculate conception and, possibly, was created under the influence of Catholic images that first appeared in Western Europe in the 15th century. In the Orthodox icon -painting tradition, the images of the Virgin of this type are known in Serbia and in Ukraine
