The new book of Vladimir Krupin - a Russian writer - is all permeated with the light of love for Russia, faith in the great purpose of the Motherland, but not only the author is talking about the future. The future is a consequence of the past, so many pages are devoted to memories.
Not everything in these memories inspires optimism, but the narrative, sometimes not at all fun, revive elements of humor, irony, sarcasm. The heroes of the book appear before us living people who, of course, have their own shortcomings, but there are many advantages, and these people, each in their own way, create Russia.
