Maroussia Klimova is one of the most significant representatives of non -conformism in modern Russian literature. The author of scandalous autobiographical novels, a collection of naval stories from a male face, as well as several prose books balancing on the verge between artistic fiction and non-fiction, including causing a storm of indignation in the readership “My History of Russian Literature”. Her translations of French radicals are also widely known: Louis-Ferdinand Selina, Jean to Zhenya, Georges Batay, Monica Wittig, Pierre Guillaot, etc. In 2006, Marusya Klimova was awarded the French Order of Literature and Art.
The conversations, interviews and essays collected in this book are designed to expand the ideas of domestic readers about modern culture. And not only because almost all of its heroes live outside Russia, mainly in France, is no less significant that they all interest the author primarily as violators of generally accepted foundations. The norm for culture is its overcoming. In order to feel it better, it is sometimes useful to cast a glance “abroad”.
