The book included the essay of Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996) dedicated to Russian writers and poets: Anna Akhmatova, Osipa Mandelstam, Andrei Platonov and other masters of the 20th century. These texts were written by the author in English and published in 1986 in New York in the collection “Less than One” (“Less unity”) awarded the US National Council of Critics. In this edition, they are presented in the original and translated into Russian and open the great poet from a new side - as a historian, criticism and thinker
