"Precious lamp. Praise Bodhichitte "is the only work of the outstanding Buddhist mentor of our time Khuna Lama Rinpoche, one of the most important teachers in the life of his Holiness of the Dalai Lama XIV. It was written in 1959 - the tragic year for the Tibetan people, when the Dalai Lama left Tibet. It contains the thoughts of Khuna Lama Rinpoche about Bodhichitte - aspiration for awakening in the name of happiness and prosperity of all living beings. He recorded their day after day during this year. 356 four-line stanzas listed in a regular diary, in spirit and wisdom, echoes the outstanding work of Shantideva "Bodhicharya Avatar" (VIII century), the instructions on which Khuna Lama Rinpoche handed Dalai Lama, asking him to disseminate this knowledge in the world. The translation of the indigenous text into Russian is made with the English translation of Gareth Sparkham and is specified by the Tibetan primary source. The publication is supplemented by the author’s biography "The blessing of sunlight, which turns the woe of the memoirs" compiled by Lamenens Gyalpo Rinpoche, as well as the biographical study of Thierry Domain (Institute for the Study of Central Asia, Boonsky University)
