This publication is dedicated to the outstanding ascetic of our time, the “All-Russian Elder” Archimandrite Kirill (Pavlov, 1919–2017), the confessor of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra.
The book is opened by the biography of the old man. The second part contains the instructions of Father Cyril, addressed to both the monks and the laity. The statements of the old man, which entered the proposed publication, were recorded by his spiritual children and were not previously published.
The author-compiler of the book-the modern Orthodox writer Hieromonk Simon (Beskrovny)-began his monastic life in the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra under the spiritual nourishment of Archimandrite Kirill (Pavlova) Then Father Simon worked in the mountains of the Caucasus. Now he is the inhabitant of one of the monastery of the Holy Mount Athos.
