The book consists of three sections. The first covers the period from the early Middle Ages to the Reformation. It discusses in detail the process of Christianization and the role of the Church in the creation of its own Swedish statehood.
The second section is dedicated to the struggle of Sweden for independence and movement for the reformation of the Church, which became the beginning of the XYI century. An obstacle to the formation of a national state. The beginning of the active missionary activity of the church, coincided with the era of the Swedish Great Power, is noted. A separate chapter is devoted to distribution in Sweden in the XYIII century. European religious movements.
The third section gives the idea of the religious life of Sweden of the XIX-XX centuries, strengthening the role of the church in society, about the problems of Christian peacekeeping in the early twentieth century, the activities of the Church in the interwar period and the years of World War II.
