In the monograph A.A. Zdanovich based on extensive documentary material reveals new pages in the history of military counterintelligence bodies of the Great Patriotic War. The main attention is paid to the activities of the special departments of the NKVD and SMERSH bodies in specific combat operations of our army and navy, the role of counterintelligence and their unspoken assistants in the battle for the Caucasus, and during operations of the Transcaucasian and North Caucasus fronts to liberate Crimea.
