The book is devoted to the study of proprietary. This language phenomenon is known for a long time and is presented in a variety of languages, but is poorly studied from a typological point of view.
In the first part of the book, a number of theoretical issues are considered (including the existing determinations of the reduction and the place of reduction among other linguistic mechanisms), a system for calculating the reduced formation forms is being built, the functions of the proper formulation in words, word formation and in vocabulary are analyzed. Languages of different language families are used as an illustrative material, primarily from the African range. Special attention is paid to the issue, why the proprietary properly fit into the framework of the traditional linguistic theory.
The second part includes a description of the reductional in separate languages: Baman, Dogon, Songai, Fula, Canoruri, Khakass and Mari.
The monograph is addressed to linguists of various specializations, in particular, researchers of African, Finno-Ugric and Turkic languages, typologists, lexicografams, as well as specialists in grammar theory and semantics of language funds
