Standal Roman "Red and Black" is a generally recognized literary masterpiece of the nineteenth century. It is known that A. Pushkin, after reading in 1831, in French, the first volume of the literary novelty in 1831 was delighted and begged the Princess Khitrovo urgently to send him the second.
