Rebuses and other similar word games are not just mental exercises. A preschooler should timely "play" with letters and words. If this stage is missed, the child may have difficulties with writing: skipping letters in a word, replacing letters based on optical similarity, distorting the sound-syllable structure of words, etc. It is important to remember that only interest and play can keep a child's attention focused in the right direction for a long time. Rebuses are a mystery, an enigma. It is the desire to solve the riddle that helps the child concentrate on the task.
