Reading primer. Stories about animals.

Thematic readers for elementary school include works that are part of all reading programs for grades 1-4, approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. In this reader, we have collected interesting stories about animals: both fictional and those that actually happened. We have selected works by fairy tale authors (the Brothers Grimm, H.C. Andersen, R. Kipling), the remarkable educator K.D. Ushinsky, poets N.A. Nekrasov, V.V. Mayakovsky, masters of Russian prose L.N. Tolstoy and A.P. Chekhov, A.I. Kuprin and L.N. Andreev, Sasha Cherny, as well as the traveler B.S. Zhitkov and animal trainer V.L. Durov - they knew animals well and understood what children find interesting about their antics and adventures, dangerous, amusing, funny, and touching situations they get into. Among the heroes of this book are not only familiar domestic animals, but also whimsical butterflies, trained elephants, wolf cubs and hares, mischievous badgers - too many to list! This publication is intended for younger students, designed to prepare for lessons and independent reading at home. All works are presented in full without abridgment.
