Thematic readers for elementary school include works that are part of all reading programs for grades 1-4, approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. This reader includes classic works from different eras and genres, united by a common theme: they all tell stories of adventures, travels (by land, sea, and air), and dangers threatening the characters, whether it's an eleven-year-old schoolboy or a fairy-tale prince, a wooden doll or a mischievous frog. Young readers will become acquainted with Russian folk tales, as well as remarkable works by Russian and foreign authors: V.M. Garshin, L.N. Tolstoy, B.S. Zhitkov, A.N. Tolstoy, A.P. Gaidar, the Brothers Grimm, and O. Henry. The publication is aimed at younger students, intended for preparation for lessons and independent reading at home. All works are presented in full without abridgment.
