Nazi concentration camps are one of the most tragic chapters in human history. The women's concentration camp Ravensbrück, which eventually turned into a camp complex consisting of male and female sections, as well as the Uckermark youth camp, served two main functions - the extermination and exploitation of the prisoners. The book examines the history of the creation and operation of the concentration camp and its branches, the different categories of prisoners - political, criminal, asocial, and female prisoners for racial reasons, the daily life of the female prisoners and their exploitation inside the camp, at SS enterprises, and private companies. The author pays special attention to the survival strategies of the female prisoners in the Ravensbrück concentration camp.
