Considering pedagogy not so much as a science, but as an ethical system regulated by deep values of truth, goodness, and beauty, Viktor Nikolaevich Soroka-Rosinsky (1882-1960) - Vikniksor from the famous story by G. Belykh and L. Panteleev "Republic of Shkid" - is dear and close to Russian teaching, especially now, when humane pedagogical thinking is being formed and developed in the fight against the deadening conservatism and authoritarianism in schools. The collection includes selected works of V.N. Soroka-Rosinsky, in which his main pedagogical principles are revealed: 1) democratic upbringing and education, 2) collective upbringing taking into account the individuality of each student, 3) transition from coercion to the principle of voluntarism based on self-activity, self-government, competitiveness, and self-criticism, 4) turning all knowledge into action, 5) the principle of play as a natural need of a growing organism in organizing all the life activities of students and learning.
