Fazil Iskander is one of the greatest Russian writers of the 20th century, a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation for his contribution to the development of national literature, a laureate of the Yasnaya Polyana Prize, the Big Book Prize ("for honor and dignity"), and many others. The world in which Iskander's characters live is a miniature copy of the larger world, where wisdom and foolishness, cunning and naivety, funny and tragic coexist. This edition includes famous novellas by Fazil Iskander written in different years: "The Constellation of Kozlotur", a novella that brought the author his first literary fame, the philosophical fable "Rabbits and Pythons", and the touching story of the life of a Chegem woman, "Sophichka".
