Fazil Iskander is one of the greatest Russian writers of the 20th century, a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation for his contribution to the development of national literature, a laureate of the Yasnaya Polyana Prize, the Big Book Prize ("for honor and dignity"), and many others.
