A classic Russian folk tale. A young tsar set off to distant lands and fell into captivity by a foreign king. His wife heard about this and decided to rescue her husband from trouble. The retelling was done by the writer and educator Elena Kirichek upon a special request from the publisher based on the text by Alexander Nikolayevich Afanasyev. The tale is illustrated by the talented contemporary artist Oksana Gamburger, working in the neomodern style.
