Every year in the realm of the dead, the Ball of Love takes place. Its guests are the souls of people from all nations and times, whose love proved stronger than death. Its hostess is lonely, so the ball needs a host. By tradition, the chosen one becomes a descendant of a divine lineage, selected by her among the living. Matvey Rokotov is a young talented surgeon.
