The land was in the invasion of the rebellious dead. However, the brainless carnivorous zombies are only an intermediate stage in the development of a completely new form of life, known as the Kabazi. These creatures with the skin of a gray -blue shade are reasonable, and in many ways they resemble people who were during life. But they are different. It was the KvAZ who stopped the war between the dead and the living, after which a new order was established in the world who survived the apocalypse.
Denis Simonov is a death investigator in the Moscow police. Its task is to detain the rebels and the transfer of their kvazi for further degeneration, or "elevation". After the elevation, the rebels turn into pseudozobi - a reasonable undead, no longer dangerous to a person. However, Denis refers to the usual rebels and the “exalted "inanimate” with the same hostility, which he has personal reasons.
As a punishment for the unsuccessfully detained Simonov, they are forced to work paired with a certain Mikhail Ivanovich, who, to the unpleasant surprise of Denis, turns out to be Cabazy. The newly made partners will have a joint investigation of terrible crimes taking place in post -apocalyptic Moscow
