Quantum Image

The monograph was written by an international team of authors - leading experts in the field of quantum optics. The book contains the most important results of theoretical and experimental studies obtained within the framework of the QUANTIM pan-European project. The quantum image is a new area of ​​quantum optics, in which the limit characteristics of the optical image allowed by quantum mechanics are investigated. The book is devoted mainly to the transformation of the optical image in various nonlinear optical schemes using quantum features of radiation from parametric light sources. It addressed the issues of forming an optical image, its processing and detection with sensitivity and permission exceeding the limits of the classic image, aspects of quantum fluctuations in spatial solitons, orbital angular momentum of light and its use in optical communication are discussed.
