The textbook systematizes the main normative, theoretical, and practical aspects of quality control in laboratory research. Key concepts and terms are presented in an accessible form. The main stages of laboratory research and potential sources of errors specific to each stage are described. Information is provided on types of control materials, requirements for them, recommendations for selection, and rules for use. The main algorithms for internal quality control within the laboratory and error detection rules are characterized and presented. Data on external quality assessment systems for laboratory tests are provided. The textbook includes original illustrative material (schemes, drawings) and control materials (questions, test tasks, problems). The publication is intended for students of institutions of higher medical education studying in the specialty 31.02.03 'Laboratory Diagnostics'.
