The collection includes three plays of Bernard Show. Among them are the most famous - “Pygmalion” (1912), according to which many films were shot and the legendary Broadway musical “My Beautiful Lady” was staged. The plot is based on an ancient Greek myth about how the sculptor tries to revive the beautiful statue he created. And the hero of the play of the show from a simple flower grinder is trying to make a sophisticated aristocrat in 6 months. “Pygmalion is a mockery of fans of“ blue blood ”... Each my play was a stone that I threw through the windows of Victorian well -being,” said the show. In 1977, the film-ballet with E. Maximova and M. Liepa was staged on this play. Pygmalion and now successfully goes to theaters around the world.
