What do you usually start with when assembling a puzzle? Do you begin with the frame or with random pieces? Do you keep a sample in front of you or trust your intuition?
Tenth-grader Ilya Talikov, Talik, has a scatterbrained mom and stepdad Valya. And there's also school. Every teenager knows: school is a separate huge life. A colorful picture of teachers, friends, tragedies, discoveries, and betrayals. And now Talik's puzzle has fallen apart into small pieces. Now before him is a jumble of seemingly random fragments: someone else's crime and a Viking's daughter, treachery and art, a gray ferryman and an accident. With the help of Nikolai Gogol and Edgar Allan Poe, he will have to put himself back together from this mess. Or a new self.
The book made it to the shortlist of the III season of the literary contest 'White Crow'.
