Mikhail Kuzichev is a music journalist, researcher, and blogger, the author of a series of interviews with foreign musicians published in Russian media outlets such as Zvukiru, InRock, Music Box, "SOYUZ" (SoyuzRu), and others. He is the laureate of the A.M. Zverev award from the journal "Foreign Literature" for his material on Bob Dylan's lyrics. For twenty years, he has been the co-host, along with Vladimir Ilinsky, of the radio show "120 Minutes of Rock Classics" on the radio station "Echo of Moscow." He is also the author of a radio series on the history of punk rock called "Walks on the Wild Side," which aired from 2006 to 2014. Mikhail Kuzichev's book "Punk Rock. Prehistory. Walks on the Wild Side: From Bob Dylan to Captain Beefheart" is the story of the emergence of American punk rock. It includes texts about bands and performers from the 1960s who were at the origins of this genre and challenged the popular music of the time, from cult and widely known figures like Bob Dylan and The Velvet Underground to lesser-known but unique ones like The Shaggs. The author managed to personally communicate with some musicians, such as Ernie Brooks from The Modern Lovers and John "Drumbo" French, a close associate of Captain Beefheart.
