The word "zodiac" comes from the Latin word zodiacus and means "circle of animals". This is because half of the constellations of the Greek zodiac circle denote animals. We are used to this zodiac, which is now called European, but not only the ancient Greeks or the ancient Romans looked at the starry sky. All peoples studied the sun, moon and stars, and many created their systems, gave the constellations the name and created myths and legends about them.
