About the book
Success often lies not in the steel willpower or other innate qualities, as is commonly believed, but in the ability to show "social" emotions - such as gratitude and compassion.
How to increase the chances of achieving success and at the same time develop stress resistance? We need to use the emotional tools available to us. The use of the power of gratitude, empathy and pride to achieve goals will help you develop perseverance in achieving the goal and fight the temptations, and in addition, almost without effort to create social ties that will serve as a support against obstacles, stress and loneliness along the way.
These emotions - gratitude, empathy and pride - is easier to cause than to form willpower. While the willpower is quickly exhausted when we use it, social emotions, on the contrary, become only stronger. They have another important advantage - they are contagious. Others begin to test them after you.
From the book you will learn about the origin and mechanisms of the work of these three emotions, their connection with self -control and perseverance in achieving the goal, as well as their potential in improving success in the long term.

For whom this book
For those who want to achieve success in any area.

From the author
In modern working conditions, the advantage of a person is his ability to build and maintain relations with colleagues and clients. This requires not only an understanding of what other people think and feel, but also the ability to experience empathy and gratitude to them and treat them fairly.
As you know, a colleague, mentor or leader who is emotionally involved in the situation, is open to others and adheres to solid principles, is able not only to succeed, but also to motivate the rest of the team to achieve the best results. The more such employees in the company, the lower the level of stress and the better the emotional climate in the team, which positively affects the productivity and financial indicators of the company.
When employees support each other, the company as a whole becomes more creative, stable and aimed at the future. The emotional involvement of people increases when the relations between them are filled with gratitude, empathy and pride - these processes resemble communicating vessels.
This point of view was confirmed by the results of a study conducted in Google in 2009. Specialists of the Department of Human Resources - in Google, this department is called People Operations Department (POD) - forced the Internet giant to direct their eyes inside and collect and analyze information about the effectiveness of their own teams and leaders. POD experts studied reviews of the effectiveness of employees, achievements, polls with feedback results and similar documents and revealed all descriptive words and phrases in them. Having received a list of terms, they analyzed the correlation of these terms with productivity indicators and achievements. Many Google employees expected that the most important quality of the leader to achieve success would be technical knowledge and experience. In practice, this factor was the last among the eight factors highlighted by the POD team. The two qualities of the leader, the presence of which were most accurately predicted by the success of the team, were: 1) attentive attitude to employees, for example, holding personal meetings and assistance in solving problems, 2) orientation on the result.
Similar results influenced the fact that many outstanding leaders of companies, such as Satya Valel (Microsoft), Stuart Butterfield (Slack), Tony Shei (ZAPPOS), when hiring employees and the formation of corporate culture, put such qualities, like empathy and kindness.
