The monograph presents a modern approach to drawing as one of the highest forms of human activity, a structural analysis of the drawing is used for this. The study of the structure of the drawing is based on the theory of motor construction levels, developed by the outstanding domestic psychophysiologist and biomechanics N.A. Bernstein. In particular, it is shown that a number of directions in the visual arts are built on the principle of motor inversion. In order for the reader to make an idea of ​​the systemic mechanism of inversions that manifest in human activity, a special chapter is given to the issues of inversive and hierarchical relations in hierarchical systems. The work is built on an interdisciplinary approach: it uses both philosophical and art history, as well as psychological, as well as psychophysiological data. When creating this monograph, the foundations of the general theory of systems were also used.
