Emma Jung (1882-1955), the wife of the founder of the analytical psychology of Karl Gustav Jung, and Maria-Luis von Franz (1915-1998), his long-term ally and closest colleague, spent more than 30 years on writing this book. The archetypal motive for the searches of the treasure enters into it into a bizarre relationship with the drama of the Cross Way of the Son of God: according to legend, the treasured treasure is a vessel in which Joseph of Arimaphae collected the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Thus, the legend of the Grail illuminates not only fundamental human problems, but also the tragic events that form the background of Christian culture. Thanks to such a paradoxical synthesis, the story of knights, eager to drink from a miraculous bowl, still remains a living literary phenomenon.
