Yukio Mishima is the most famous and readable Japanese writer in the world. He became famous equally both by his works in all conceivable genres (novels, plays, stories, essays), as well as an extravagant style of life and death (Harakiri after an unsuccessful attempt by a monarchical coup).
“The Book of the Samurai” is Mishima’s thoughts about “Hagakur, or hidden in foliage”-a treatise on the Code of Honor of the Samurai (Busido), aged in the canons of Zen Buddhism, Shintoism and Confucianism and compiled on the basis of conversations with the XVII century samurai Jamamoto jam. These stories about combat valor and military duty, conscience and responsibility recorded by one of the disciples of the Dzetye are not a collection of commandments, but the original methodology for knowing the world and comprehending wisdom. “Perhaps "Hagakurse" is the initially paradox book,” writes Mishima. -During the war, she radiated light, but in the middle of the white day he was not very noticeable, and only in the darkness the book shone for real. <...> This book professes freedom.
